SEAFOOD SHOWERS A bizarre weather situation in the Chinese seaside town of Qingdao, resulted in octopus, starfish and prawns raining from the sky. A strong and powerful storm slurped up various marine creatures from the sea and unleashed them across the coastal city in China’s Shandong province. Trees and large sign posts were brought to the ground, as well as, streets being flooded and traffic coming to a standstill. Motorists who witnessed the seafood shower reported octopus flying through the air along with starfish, prawns and other shellfish falling across vehicle windshields. Meteorologists claimed the animals were sucked from the sea by a waterspout and blown all the way to shore by the strong winds. “Seafood rain” then became a trending topic on social media channels. My Mum used to take my brothers and I to the library most weekends, where we would stock up on books. As I grew up, my love of reading naturally evolved into a love of writing. SHAME OF THE MONTH I was playing in the classroom on a wet day and was throwing my ball around when somebody opened the door to get a drink.
