Escaping the confines of the living room corner, the lush, evergreen tones of the much-loved Christmas tree brought a fresh, foresty feel to the autumn/winter runway shows. Jonathan Anderson toughened up the look with head-to-toe leather at Loewe, while at Michael Halpern’s debut show, a heavy dose of sequins gave green a good sprucing up. Lychee martinis Makes 4 small cocktails * 8 tinned lychees in light syrup * 150ml of the syrup reserved * Large handful of ice cubes * 200ml goodquality vodka * 30ml white vermouth Put 1 lychee into each of 4 coupe cocktail glasses, then put in the freezer for about 20 minutes until very cold.
