I think of summer holiday colours as easy and fun. Nothing complicated or overdone, just nice and simple. Colours you can take to the beach and then out to dinner, so to speak. Flower Power Summer and florals go hand-in-hand for me. How pretty would a floral quilt be in with these colours? I can already picture a flower sampler quilt with the happy yellows and oranges set against the dark and light blues. When was the last time you recruited a quilter? Odd question to ask, but it’s one that has a massive impact on the industry that we all love – it might not survive if we don’t start spreading the good word about sewing and quilting. I’ll take hand-sewing over machine piecing any day of the week. Granted, it’s a much slower pace and there is some satisfaction to be had when you’re chain-piecing up a storm, but I love having a portable project to dip into on my travels.
