In the same way that housework is not just for women, neither is quilting. Yep, you heard right – quilting is not for women alone. Sure, we might make up the biggest demographic, and we might have started it first, but it’s not ours to fiercely protect from the involvement of anyone else. If it’s one thing that gets my threads in a bunch more than a tangled bobbin, it’s seeing someone excluded, regardless of whether it’s because of their gender, who they love, what fabric they like or where they live. Quilting doesn’t discriminate, but some quilters do.
