A Lone Star is an eight-pointed star quilt block made with diamonds. It is a great pattern for using up fabric scraps and spare Jelly Roll strips. Traditionally, a Lone Star would be sewn together as separate diamonds, using Y Seams. However, the marking and matching up of Y seams can be quite tricky and not a beginner-friendly method.
