Picking a favourite fabric doesn’t come easy for Andover Fabrics designer Alison Glass. “Each [collection] represents different moments and emotions in my life, making them all special in their own way,” she says – but, if she absolutely had to pick, one special collection does come to mind… Lucky Penny, the first collection that the accomplished designer released, was born out of a trip through America organised by her husband as a birthday gift. Scraps: what do you do with them and how do you manage them? Having a good storage system for scraps can really help you see what you have and therefore help you use them more. Once in a while, it's useful to spread your scraps out on the cutting table and cut out some useful sizes. By storing them in pre-cut shapes, it's easier to grab them for a project as and when they’re needed.
