“If you can sew in a straight line, you can make a quilt” – a sentence we love to say to anyone who’s a little intimidated by the process. But what happens when your lines no longer need to be straight? For anyone somewhat apprehensive about taking the scenic route, here’s some of our best advice for sewing curves. 1 Go slow A tricky one for any of us speed demons, but know that you don’t have to stitch the whole length of a curve in one blast. There are so many things I love about quilting. The feeling of making something with my hands. The feeling of satisfaction when things come together just as I imagine. The feeling of surprise when it doesn’t go quite as planned, but I still like it.
