Do you want to know a secret? Your sewing space isn’t cluttered because you need to get more organised. It’s cluttered because you have too much stuff, says Kim Soper Smith. When I started my first quilt in my teens, I stitched in secret. So many hours have gone into making the quilt but after a while, thanks to an accidental coffee spill, or just time, it’ll need a wash. Having historically used flowers to fill in the gaps of your intricate animal prints, did you always have it in the back of your mind that one day you’d design an entirely floral fabric collection? For years I said that I would never do a floral collection. I said it in videos and lectures and also basically to anyone who would listen.
