IN MEMORIAM: CHARLIE BAUSCH
My father, Charlie Bausch, was a Renaissance man of his era—a fellow who could draft a plan in his head, put pen to paper and flux to torch—and make a hot, new idea become a reality. Sadly, he passed away on February 1.
Interestingly, despite a career that led him to rub elbows with some of sport fishing’s most influential families over four decades, Dad never really cared much for boats. Instead, he loved building cars and solving mechanical problems. He was also a skilled artist and designer. At home, he owned and piloted many pristine airplanes, while driving beater cars to work, where he custom-designed and installed superstructures for some of the sport’s finest boats.
Growing up, he was always into mechanical tinkering, metalworks…
