| Poul Anderson A FELLOW has just completed a trip across Britain on a 50cc moped, visiting places with unusual, often rude-sounding, names, raising funds for charity.
Paul Taylor’s odyssey took him to Shitterton, in Dorset, Twatt, in Orkney, Booze, in the Yorkshire Dales, Brawl, in the Scottish Highlands, and Cockpole Green, in Berkshire, according to the BBC.
Other names encountered included Slack Bottom, Crumps Butt, Cockshutts, Sandyballs, Ass Hill, Pishill, Willey, Penistone and Upperthong.
Taylor’s trip, at a maximum speed of 45km/h, raised £20 000 (about R4 million) for cancer re- search.
Next time, he really should come out to South Africa and explore places like Gert Se Gat, beween Franschoek and Cape Town, the river crossing at Baldiep and the sun- baked Hotazel.
