Sibusiso Mboto sibusiso.mboto@inl.co.za The management association of a business estate, which suffered billions of rand in losses during July’s looting and unrest, has secured a high court interdict against a business forum that allegedly made threats and demanded a stake in the rebuilding process.
The application by the Cornubia Industrial Business Estate Management Association and company, Samuels Group, which is based at the estate, came before the Durban High Court on Wednesday.
The court granted an order interdicting and restraining the Amabhubesi Business Forum and the forum’s Thulani Mbanga Nhleyama from assaulting, intimidating, threatening, burning or in any way damaging the property of the estate and the company. They are further interdicted from threatening, assaulting or intimidating the staff.
