Amid the rubble of his house a man sits reading the Qur’an (Picture, Sunday Tribune, March 17). His life lies in ruins, shattered by the cruelty of a senseless, brutal war. His own blood cousins, the Israelis, have turned to be his vengeful neighbours and have showed no mercy, bombing him out of existence.
It’s a poignant reminder of how the Holy Land has become a blood bath.
With everything gone, his family, his humble home and meagre possessions, he clings to the last hope he has – God Almighty.
Even in such trying times when all hope is gone, his faith in God is steadfast, unwavering.
Three religions were born here – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It should be such a sacred place, a shrine where no blood flows.…
