The Border Management Authority (BMA) has announced the deployment of an additional 69 personnel to the busiest ports of entry across the country this festive season. As South Africa expects an influx of travellers, BMA commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato said there would be extended operating hours at some of the busiest ports of entry and additional staff. The BMA will also partner with the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development on the deployment of drones to enhance border security. Port Sudan: At least two people were killed when Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked a camp for displaced people in the North Darfur region, activists said yesterday. As the holiday season approaches, the national Minister of Transport once again, as it happens every holiday season, appeals in the media to the populace to drive carefully on the roads and gives the road accident death rates for the year to date.
