Two friends, from Woodbridge in Suffolk, are set to drive a 44-year-old Mini across eight European countries in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. Jo Travers, 33, and Jan Davies, 35, who work together at a veterinary practice, decided they wanted to do something “completely different” to raise money for charity. They chose Alzheimer’s Research UK as both have family members affected by dementia.
Jan has long dreamt of doing a charity rally in a Mini, and when Jo revealed she owned a 1972 example, the pair came up with a three-week challenge that will see them cover 3000 miles through the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and Italy.
