I attended the Fells Annual Portfolio Tasting the other day, and it was a cracker. This elite wine importer is responsible for bringing world-famous estates such as Hugel, Guigal, Torres, Yalumba, Torbreck and Tyrrell’s, among hosts of others, as well as a suite of epic fortifieds – including Barbadillo, Blandy’s, Graham’s, Dow’s, Warre’s and Cockburn’s – into the UK. New signings include Chateau Lebanon’s Musar and our very own Wiston. Despite all this obvious stardust, my eye was inextricably drawn to 19th-century Italian Marsala pioneers Pellegrino.
