The hype sheet that accompanies the review copy says, “If it isn’t here, chances are it’s not a 1983 automobile.’’ What an attractive modesty!
In addition to 350 black-and-white pages (with two to four photos per page) all about the 1983 automobiles themselves, there are 39 pages of indices, appendices, price lists, and—believe it or not—each car’s top speed.
Never mind that: In the front of the book, there is a seven-page, four-color recap of the 1982 World Drivers’ Championship, with photos of some of the season’s leading chauffeurs during unguarded moments.
