These photos show the aftermath of what happened when Marvin Pugh, from Newport in South Wales, attempted to double-up a set of jumps on the Cwmcarn DH track but came up short. “I half cleared it,” Marvin tells us, “but my back wheel cased the lander and I went over the bars. I broke my collarbone into four pieces, but worse than that, my body compressed into the foetal position so hard that it caused the L1 and L3 vertebrae to fracture.
