Giant’s Reign Advanced E+ e-MTB may not set the pulse racing on paper, but it shows glimmers of technical brilliance
Giant’s latest Reign Advanced E+ is cut from the same cloth as many other gravity-focused e-bikes on the market, with slack, long and low geometry, plenty of suspension travel and a robust, familiar frame design. However, look beyond the must-haves and it packs in some interesting details, from integrated electronics to well thought-out protection and geometry adjustment. The 22.7kg claimed weight (medium) is also seriously competitive.
Unusually, Giant use their own, Yamaha-made SyncDrive Pro 3 motor. This packs 800W of peak power – more than any other mainstream drive unit except for DJI’s 1,000W Avinox M1.
