Meet the pilot: Captain Irene Koki Mutungi • Career highlights: Kenya Airways’ first female pilot and captain; Africa’s first female Boeing 787 Dreamliner captain; commanded first father–daughter flight and first all-female flight in Africa. • Journey to KQ: Captain Mutungi’s father was a pilot for Kenya Airways, and flying with him from a very young age ignited her passion to become a pilot too.
