Close proximity to the beach and thick tropical foliage made this two-story Old Naples home seem ultra-desirable. But inside, the four-bedroom, Mediterranean-style property was dark and dreary. In an effort to spruce things up, the homeowners commissioned Sarah Anderson, principal interior designer at Designing Naples, to replace some of the furniture and draperies. Anderson, however, saw the potential to turn the 4,000-square-foot residence into a bright and airy haven.
“The dominoes started falling when the general contractor brought [us] the clients’ tea-colored kitchen cabinets so we could paint the woodwork white,” she says. “After that, we gutted the house down to the studs.”
