They are the notorious serial killing couple who preyed on the streets of France, kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering young women for 14 years, from 1987 to 2001. Michel Fourniret’s obsession with virgins began in 1966 at the age of 24, when he did time for groping a minor. It was during this time that he met up with Monique Olivier as a penpal. Dubbed the ‘Lethal Lovers’, couple Gwendolyn Graham and Catherine Wood made international headlines in 1987 after killing five Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Falling in love in their 20s, the pair met while working together as nurse’s aides at Alpine Manor, an aged care home in Michigan, United States. Fuelled by love, the young couple promised each other ‘forever and five days’, and in turn carried out five killings.
