Karl Stefanovic has been off-air recently on a secret mission, a Nine spokesperson confirms. “Karl has been sent on a secret assignment and won’t be returning to the Today show until Friday this week,” the network representative said. A source tells New Idea the 47-year-old has been sent to Switzerland to help Nine secure broadcasting rights to the next three Olympic Games. “It’s clear Karl is still very much their number-one golden boy,” the source confirmed, adding that the move demonstrates how “valued he is at Nine”.
