Channel Nine’s A Current Affair, hosted by Ally Langdon, has opposed a non-publication order sought by Channel Seven to conceal the identity of two people accused of serious crimes, who both star on a Channel Seven show. A woman is accused of offences against children, including eight counts of rape, while a man is facing seven counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. Both are slated to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court in coming weeks. As per current Queensland legislation, their identities have been shielded from the public. However, Queensland Parliament has just revoked this contentious law and it awaits the governor’s sign-off next month.
