She’s spent much of the year travelling, but Lisa Curry is now in “recovery mode” after undergoing hip-replacement surgery and ending up in the ICU. The former swim champion, 61, revealed she injured herself back in January during a dog-sledding adventure gone wrong in Canada. With a large trip across the US and Europe already planned from June, Lisa made the decision to delay the surgery. “[I] just lived on painkillers for that 10-week trip,” she shared on Instagram to her 136,000 followers. “Every day is getting better and I’m now able to exercise and swim again so I’m happy about that,” Lisa posted, adding that she’s “learning to walk without a limp, doing simple tasks again”. Flowers in hand, Frank and Carmel Eyre made yet another painful visit to Shepparton’s Pine Lodge Cemetery on October 12 to mark the anniversary of their son Damian’s brutal killing. Cairns local Fleur Wilson always felt blessed to have been adopted by a large and loving family when she was just six weeks old.
