Milky Bar Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding SERVES 8 PREP & COOK 50 MINS ■ 1¹⁄³ cups self-raising flour ■ ¹⁄³ cup cocoa powder ■ ¾ cup caster sugar ■ ¾ cup milk ■ 1 egg, lightly beaten ■ 100g butter, melted, cooled ■ 170g block Milky Bar white chocolate, finely chopped ■ Chocolate ice-cream, to serve TOPPING ■ ¼ cup cocoa powder ■ ¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 Grease an ovenproof dish (10-cup capacity). 2 Sift flour and cocoa into a large bowl. After serving more than 13 years behind bars for the murder of her newborn daughter, Keli Lane had hoped she was on the verge of freedom. Moroccan Lamb and Chickpea Casserole SERVES 4 PREP & COOK 35 MINS ■ 750g diced lamb ■ 1 onion, finely chopped ■ 1 large carrot, peeled, finely chopped ■ 2 tsps bottled crushed garlic ■ 1 tblsp Moroccan seasoning ■ 2 tblsps tomato paste ■ 2 large beef stock cubes, crumbled ■ 410g can crushed tomatoes ■ 400g chickpeas, drained, rinsed ■ Cooked couscous, to serve 1 Heat an oiled stockpot over a high heat. Add lamb in two batches. Cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes, or until browned all over. Remove. Reduce heat to medium. 2 Add onion, carrot and garlic to pot. Cook, stirring, until soft. Return lamb to pot with seasoning and paste. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. 3 Dissolve stock cubes in ½ cup boiling water.…

Pear and Berry Hazelnut Frying Pan Crumble SERVES 6 PREP & COOK 45 MINS ■ 25g unsalted butter ■ 1kg (6) medium pears, peeled, cored, quartered ■ ¼ cup raw sugar ■ ¼ cup orange juice ■ 2 cups frozen mixed berries ■ Vanilla ice-cream, to serve CRUMBLE ■ 1 cup plain flour ■ ¾ cup raw sugar ■ 100g cold unsalted butter, chopped ■ ¾ cup hazelnuts 1 To make crumble, pulse flour, sugar, butter and ¼ cup hazelnuts in a food processor until mixture starts to clump together. Transfer to a large bowl. Coarsely chop remaining hazelnuts. Stir through crumble. 2 Melt butter in a medium, deep ovenproof frying pan (base measuring 22cm) over a medium to high heat. Add pears. ROASTED RHUBARB & STRAWBERRIES Trim an 800g bunch of rhubarb. Cut into 4cm lengths. Hull 250g punnet of strawberries. Cut into quarters. Place strawberries and rhubarb in a large roasting pan. Sprinkle with ⅓ cup caster sugar. Add ¼ cup water. Cook in a hot oven (200C) for about 10 minutes, or until just tender. Remove. Serve warm or cold over porridge. The ‘no body, no parole’ legislation was introduced in NSW in late 2022 following the high-profile murder trial of Chris Dawson, who killed his wife Lynette 40 years earlier. In May, the NSW justice system officially dubbed the reform as ‘Lyn’s Law’, after her family fought to honour the mother of two. “That’s a wonderful legacy, we can be proud and we know that she can be proud too,” her sister-in-law Merilyn Simms said. It comes as Dawson, 75, failed to overturn his conviction in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal last week.
