Italian progressive jazz quartet Möbius Strip have announce details of their upcoming second album, entitled Time Lag, which arrives four years after their self-titled debut. “We think we’ve created an album which, even though it’s quite diverse, has a strong sense of unity,” keyboardist Lorenzo Cellupica says.
The four-piece were invited to support Soft Machine at Progtoberfest in Chicago in 2018 and the keyboardist believes that, on the back of that experience, this new record represents their growing confidence and ambition.
“We wanted to expand the sound and the colours of the songs, compared to our debut,” Cellupica says. “We’ve added new instruments including trumpets, trombones and a four-voice choir.
