I grew up in a family that loves to play games. As a young child, I can remember many game nights with my family that included card games, board games, dominoes, and marbles. As I reached my tweener years, the first video gaming systems were being developed. I spent hours with my dad just trying to “get to the next level” of whatever game we were engrossed in at the moment. Whenever we went out to eat (usually fast food pizza) my brother and I would spend all of my parent’s quarters on arcade games in the restaurant. Getting Started About our Patterns We recommend that you read all of the instructions before starting a project and that you cut and sew one block before cutting all of your fabric. Using a rotary cutter, mat and an acrylic ruler, cut the shape to the size indicated in the cutting list. Our patterns list finished block sizes, which are typically ½" smaller than unfinished block sizes because they do not include seam allowances. When I was making this quilt, I cut out the fabrics as Hurricane Florence was heading towards North and South Carolina. I live in central North Carolina and at first the track was showing a straight hit and possibly a category 4 or 5 hurricane. As former Floridians, we weren’t too worried as we’re are pretty far inland, but we still prepared. Then the track changed and the first day was no big deal, so I sewed a lot! The next day we lost power twice and the third day we lost power for half the day, but in those 3 days, I made this quilt from start to finish!…
