Lately I’ve been in a slump. I haven’t had the desire to work on any of my quilting projects, let alone even go near my sewing room. I don’t know if it is the gloomy winter days or what, but I’m not feeling inspired to do any sewing. Does this ever happen to you? The one thing that seems to snap me out of my winter doldrums and invigorate my soul is Spring. It’s my favorite season of the year. I love the new growth and all the colors—flowers, leaves, even the brighter colors of clothing. With Spring, I have a renewed desire to plan projects and create. Kathryn may not have pieced the quilt top aside from finishing the border, but she indulged her passion for patchwork by piecing the backing. She started with the white print featured in the middle, then used some of it along with a black-and-white print to make triangle-squares as a reference to the One Way Blocks in the top. From that point, she added a variety of aqua, turquoise and gray prints all around, resulting in a contemporary, slightly funky take on the more formal vintage top.…

Getting Started About our Patterns We recommend that you read all of the instructions before starting a project and that you cut and sew one block before cutting all of your fabric. Using a rotary cutter, mat and an acrylic ruler, cut the shape to the size indicated in the cutting list.
