COMPUTER PI
First and foremost, the Raspberry Pi is a computer. It has an operating system, built-in productivity apps, the ability to connect to both a home network and the Internet (either wirelessly or through Ethernet), and you can connect a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. It stands to reason, then, that it makes for a remarkably cheap desktop computer.
The obvious advantage of using the Raspberry Pi as a desktop computer though, is the fact that it’s so cheap. For around £100 you could easily purchase the Pi, monitor, keyboard and mouse, providing you with a fully-functional computer capable of doing most, if not all, of the things you would do on a computer that costs ten times that amount.
