To paraphrase the Bard of Stratford, ‘Though she be little, she be strong!’ I don’t know about you, but I like gussets – big ones, small ones, fancy ones, thick or thin – they all have a part to play. Whether easy to insert, or in a troublesome corner, a good gusset is a wondrous thing. So why don’t we see more of them on show? I’ve been in favour of playing with them since I was a callow youth, when I first found their use was of great benefit to us fuselage fiddlers and wing wanglers.
