IRISH FERRIES
All-round increases have been reported by the Irish Continental Group during the first six months of 2023. The ferry division, trading as Irish Ferries, saw revenue go up 7.1 per cent to €179.8 million, with 227,100 cars carried, seven per cent more than the same period of 2022 and with the ferry division leading the way.
Passenger totals moved up to 1,091,900, which is a 22 per cent growth from the same period in 2022, while freight carryings, at 348,200 units, represented a five and a half per cent increase on the Dover-Calais service across the English Channel, which was launched using Isle of Inishmore (1997/28,833gt) in June 2021, with two further vessels, Isle of Innisfree (1992/28,833gt) and Isle of Innisheer (2000/22,152gt), since being added to the Dover-based…
