Toshiba and WD to reconcile their memory business Toshiba Corp. recently announced that the company and Western Digital Corp. have come to an agreement to cancel their ongoing litigation regarding flash memory business and invest in Yokkaichi memory plant for manufacturing next-generation memory chips. Toshiba had decided to sell the memory business in order to avoid insolvency and go into delisting from the First Section of the Tokyo Stock. Western Digital was against the deal and filed a lawsuit to stop the sell-out. If the dispute were to prolong, WD would have lost the source of procurement of latest memory chips.
