Sony has announced an addition to its E-mount full-frame lens lineup with the introduction of the FE 35 mm f/1.8 wide-angle prime lens, model SEL35F18F. “Our E-mount lens lineup now includes 34 full-frame models and 52 lenses in total,” said Neal Manowitz, deputy president of Imaging Products and Solutions Americas at Sony Electronics. “The new 35 mm prime combines outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness with a compact design, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of shooters. Fujifilm has introduced its compact 5x standard zoom lens, Fujinon XF 16-80 mm f/4 R OIS WR, which will join the lineup of interchangeable lenses available for the X-series mirrorless digital cameras. This small, lightweight lens is highly portable and versatile for all types of photography, including snapshots, landscape and low-light photography. It consists of 16 lens elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical elements and one ED aspherical lens. Areport by Fortune Business Insights states that the global interchangeable lens market will complete a shipment of 21.9 million units by 2026. The key companies covered in the report were Canon, Olympus, Samyang Optics, Sony, Zeiss, Tamron, Nikon and Leica among others. The global market registered a total of 18.2 million shipment units in the year 2018 and is estimated to reach 21.9 million units by 2026. Tamron has announced the 17-28 mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens, a large aperture, ultra-wide-angle lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. Featuring a filter diameter of 67 mm, a light body weight of 420 g and a length of 99 mm, Tamron claims that this compact lens will provide excellent balance on the small profile mirrorless cameras. Often called the bread and butter lens of the professionals, the 24-70 mm f/2.8 zoom is also popular with serious amateurs. Sony has announced the Alpha 7R IV, the latest addition to its Alpha 7R series of full-frame mirrorless cameras. The camera features the world’s first 35 mm full-frame, back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 61.0 MP. It offers 15-stop dynamic range at low sensitivities, which Sony says results in smooth natural gradations ranging from deep shadows to highlights.
