NEWSWATCH Nikon has reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year, continuing its impressive recovery. The company’s overall revenue increased by 3.6% year-on-year to 163 billion yen (£875 million), while operating profit, though down by 10.3%, remained robust at 2.95 billion yen (£16 million). The standout performer for Nikon was its Imaging Products segment, which includes interchangeable lens digital cameras and lenses. This division saw total revenue rise from 74.4 billion yen (£400 million) to 83.7 billion yen (£450 million). Profits also increased, climbing from 15.3 billion yen (£82 million) to 17.8 billion yen (£95 million). NEWSWATCH Nikon has released firmware updates for five Nikkor Z lenses, addressing a specific enhancement. The update introduces support for the [Focus ring rotation range] options within the camera’s [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU], offering more control for users.
