This is not your average pancake stack — try it and see. Who doesn’t love waking up to a stack of pancakes and bacon on the weekend? With a salty-sweet twist, I promise this combo will knock your socks off! I use whisked egg whites to aerate the pancakes so they’re really light and fluffy without the need for a raising agent. After you’ve scooped some ice-cream out the first time, place a piece of plastic wrap over the surface of the ice-cream left in the tub. Ironically, while nigiri-sushi has become a worldwide phenomenon, in Japan it’s not widely made at home. Instead, home cooks favour the far less technically demanding and quicker chirashi, or scattered sushi. chirashi is the precursor to the poke bowls you see everywhere today. In fact, if you look at the history of sushi, there’s even a compelling argument that it’s the precursor to nigiri-sushi and sushi handrolls.
