Free, iOS/Android The sheer dominance of Google’s Chrome across the browser spectrum has, ironically, put the once browser monopolist of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer on the back foot. Gone are the days of the slow, insecure and feature-light browser, but unfortunately, this has been replaced with Google’s central obsession with ads, tracking and monitoring. Microsoft Edge is a new browser, unrelated to ‘Legacy’ Edge or Internet Explorer, based on the open-source code that Chrome itself runs on. However, Edge strips out anything Google-related and, instead, replaces it with its own (optional) Microsoft login and links to Bing and Rewards.
