Sheila Robinette first fell in love with her historic home in Lewisburg, West Virginia, as a teenager but never dreamt she would one day call it her own. “I’ve always loved the house,” she says. “I would pass by on the way to high school, and I always thought it was such a homey home. Christmas in the Lerner home is an all-out affair. “My husband jokes that this is ‘the Christmas house,’” homeowner and interior designer Ashley Lerner admits. She starts her decorating in October and has no shame about celebrating her favorite time of year early. The Lerners moved into their current home, and in the new space, holiday celebrations transformed into what Ashley had always dreamed of. “I always wanted a large foyer where we could fit a tall tree, and this year, we were able to do that,” she says.
