THIS SHORT-SLEEVED, colourblock jumper by Lucy George has a deep, diagonal split on the left side, extending from the hem almost up to the armpit. The asymmetric shape is emphasised by bands of garter stitch in two bright, contrasting colours, repeated around the hems and cuffs and echoed in a band of vertical stripes around the upper chest. “THIS WRAP was inspired by the lace net curtains in Lorelai Gilmore’s living room in the hit TV series Gilmore Girls,” explains Kath Andrews. “We often see these lit from behind when the main characters are on the porch in the evenings. Worked in one piece from end to end using a laceweight Shetland wool, this wrap gives the knitter a satisfying challenge which blocks out beautifully once complete. THIS ROUND-NECK cardigan by Lisa Richardson has a simple pattern of eyelets on the body and sleeves, and is finished with a frilled collar. This is knitted separately, in stocking stitch with a garter stitch edging, then is joined to the live stitches around the neckband. The project uses Rowan’s new yarn, Cotton Trio, which combines cotton with a touch of wool and alpaca and gives a cool, soft fabric with a distinctive handle. PERFECT FOR warm summer days as well as for layering over T-shirts and blouses in the autumn, this design from Anniken Allis feels extra-special. It’s knitted in McIntosh Fabulous, a 4ply blend of BFL wool and mulberry silk which is hand-dyed in a range of sumptuous colours. Anniken’s design has a pretty lace yoke, and a plain body which showcases the hand-dyed yarn. PATTERN NOTES The garment is worked in the round to the underarms. The front and back are then worked separately to the shoulders, which are joined with a three-needle cast-off before adding neck and armhole edgings.
