The Rev Rosie Richardson conducted the thanksgiving service for Peter Lewis-Crown at St Paul's, Knightsbridge.
Lewis-Crown was the sole designer and owner of Lachasse, Britain's oldest couture house, before its closure in 2006.
Lachasse, in South Kensington, had designed dresses, suits and gowns since 1926. Lewis-Crown, joined in 1949 at 18.
Among his clients were Barbara Cartland, Hermione Gingold, Margaret Thatcher, Norma Major, Betty Boothroyd and Bubbles Rothermere.
Lachasse, from the French for ‘the hunt’, produced, Lewis-Crown said, ‘tailored, well-made clothes which flatter women and make them feel confident’.
In his eulogy, Harrison Goldman, 30, paid testament to Lewis-Crown's gift for friendship, not least since Goldman was 64 years his junior.
