A Pennsylvania grandmother has gotten an old summer job back. When local pools closed due to a lifeguard shortage, Robin Borlandoe, age 70, became a lifeguard again—a job she’d had at age 16. It’s “for our kids, our community,” she said.
A STUFFED ANIMAL SLEEPOVER
Children in Goleta, California, dropped off their stuffies for a special overnight library event. At the stuffed animal slumber party, librarians took photos of the toys making s’mores, playing games, and goofing around on library equipment. It “put smiles on the kids’ faces,” said one parent.
