Bowers & Wilkins: A brief history Anyone reading this who is also something of a home audiophile will know the name Bowers & Wilkins, but many of you may not have come across the company outside of its BMW applications, and it has a rich history. The company began as a radio and electronics shop in Worthing, East Sussex, after World War II, started by John Bowers and Roy Wilkins, the two having met while serving in the Royal Corps of Signals during the war.
