Anamoe goes to stud this season as the most expensive first season stallion we have ever seen. At a fee of $121,000, there are only a handful of stallions in Australia commanding a higher fee. There is no doubt that Anamoe, who we wrote about last month, was a star on the track, but if we compare him to the likes of the recently retired Lonhro, it is fair to suggest that he was certainly not superior to that champion. Lonhro went on to be a champion stallion and yet never commanded a fee of the level of Anamoe. In fact, it was only in 2012 that he had a fee of over $100,000.
