FEATURE Like a lot of us before COVID, Kenneth Cobonpue and his team lived a fast-paced life filled with numbers, collections, and deadlines. “We were always pressured to come up with new designs, new collections,” the multi-awarded furniture designer recalls. “A lot of things were hurried.”
Having taken the time spent in lockdown in the past two years to pause, recalibrate, and see where his brand is going, Cobonpue has taken a decidedly slower pace, admitting that he is ”more conscious now.”
Rather than thinking about “what’s next,” the designer says he’s more cognizant of whether he is doing “something that’s really unique, something that’s original, and something that’s needed, in a way.”
