My name is Owen, I’m 22 and this is my slammed, patina, Fontana Grey, 1967 1500 Beetle. The car has a cool story, which goes something like this:
It was originally my father’s car. He bought it from a friend for £50 in the early 1980s. Himself and my mother, the hippies they were, drove all around the country on summer holidays and to various VW shows. After many years on the road, the car needed more and more work, so my father removed and replace the heater channels and rusted areas on the road outside their house.
Mid-way through the work being done, my mother became pregnant with my sister, which meant the project stalled as my father’s focus went toward finding…
