Some Volkswagens seem to roll straight from the factory into a museum. Others, like Craig Gonzalez’s 1968 Bay Window, live a thousand lives before lunchtime. This Bus – known affectionately and publicly as Edgar – has been on quite the journey, and not just metaphorically. Slammed, painted, stickered and then stickered over, it’s a rolling storybook of trials, tribulations and good times on the open road. But despite the chaos, Edgar still wears his original paint, along with a bit of street art and a whole lot of hard-won attitude.
