DESPITE BEING CLOSELY related to our favourite city car, the Hyundai i10, Kia’s Picanto has never reached the same heights. Although well equipped, decent inside and relatively cheap to buy, it has proved to be a little disappointing to drive in its first two generations, with an unsettled ride and springy, inconsistent steering. The Renault Twingo, Suzuki Celerio and Volkswagen Up all handle better.
Thus far, nothing has managed to top the i10, but Kia is aiming to change that with a new Picanto.
Space and aesthetics
