A few months ago, I watched SBS drama The Hunting closely followed by HBO’s Euphoria and Share (which aired on Fox Showcase). Shortly after, I binged the third season of 13 Reasons Why. Although they are all dramas worth watching, I wouldn’t recommend viewing them back-to-back or you might come away with the impression that teenagers do nothing but sext each other; share inappropriate, oversexualised photos of their classmates; bully others on social media; and go to out-of-control, unsupervised parties where drugs, alcohol and unsafe sex proliferate. Maybe they do, but I’d like to think it’s not all as dark and twisted as most of today’s dramas focused on the teen demographic make out.
