A tragic timeline of the last days of Gene Hackman has been pieced together, with officials concluding the 95-year-old actor died from heart disease a week after his wife passed away. Betsy Arakawa, 65, is believed to have died on February 11 from a rare disease called hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. Hackman, who had advanced Alzheimer’s disease, had been in the full-time care of his wife. After her death, he was left alone in their Santa Fe home. It is believed he died on February 18.
