FIFA have announced a series of changes to the men’s Under-17 World Cup tournament, with Qatar set to host all of the next five editions – starting from 2025. Previously a 24-team biennial competition (from 2007 to 2023) – and before that a 16-team format following its inception in 1985 – the finals will now take place every year and feature 48 countries.
