For many years Mount Inez was in trail limbo, not quite open to the public, but not quite closed, either. There were no trail markers, but Champlain Area Trails (CATS) would occasionally lead group hikes up what is really a special little peak.
Also, from time to time, a stray hiker or two may have become “lost” and wound up on top of Inez, but let’s not dwell on that.
The good news is that now the trail has been fully routed, marked and sanctioned by CATS and through the generosity of the owners, the Bunting family of Baltimore. At 1,550 feet, Inez in height comes up shy of the One World Trade Center, but it’s still a stout little hike, gaining about 900 feet in 1.8 miles.
